A team of professionals, brilliantly mastering surgical method of treatment of obesity and diabetes type II, will help you to start a new and most importantly healthy life!

"Not that long ago scientists discovered that ghrelin appetite hormone is produced in the upper part of the stomach. And it is directly linked with pleasure hormone (endorphin), which begins to be produced as soon as we are saturated with food. Almost the same process occurs when a drug addict consumes drugs. Probably that is why people with overweight are called food addicts whose weight gradually transforms from the normal one into the life and health threatening, "says Professor Ivan Todurov.

How to calculate your optimal weight?

The most popular method for the excess weight estimation which is used all over the world includes body mass index (BMI). It is calculated in the following way: body weight (kg) is divided into height (meters) and then squared. For example with the height of 1.70 m and weight of 66 kg BMI will be 23, which is the standard. If BMI is over 25 then it is already overweight, more than 30 is the 1st degree of obesity, more than 35 is an obesity of the 2nd degree. If BMI is over 40 then it is the obesity of 3rd degree, the morbid obesity (morbid means ‘painful’ in English) is a super-obesity which causes diabetes mellitus type II, hypertension, sleep apnea syndrome, atherosclerosis and increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and cancer. Numerous studies prove conclusively that there are no effective conservative treatment methods of morbid obesity (with BMI of over 40). After conservative therapy 95% of patients with this type of obesity experienced weight gain during the first 6 months and up to 2 years after the treatment. Surgery is considered to be the only real method of an effective treatment.

"We do not operate those who did not try to lose weight on their own and whose weight is not that excessive. Usually it is enough to reduce food consumption, the amount of carbohydrates and to increase physical activity in order to lose weight. However, all this must be done in the complex. Only in the case a person is actively involved, and there is no result, it makes sense to consider the possibility of a surgery. And, of course, weight loss is impossible to be achieved without the help of the doctors, if the weight has exceeded the mark of 130, 140, and even 150-170 kilograms," Professor Ivan Todurov says.
